Count the days from today to any future date, or between any two dates. Get results in calendar days and business days — great for countdowns, deadlines, shipping estimates and event planning.
Type or pick the target date you want to count to (or from). The start date defaults to today, but you can change it to count between any two dates. Use the Quick Picks for common countdowns like Christmas, New Year or next Monday.
Select Calendar Days to count every day including weekends, or Business Days to count only Monday–Friday. A live ticker updates in real time showing days, hours, minutes and seconds if counting from the current moment.
The result shows total days, weeks and months in both calendar and business day formats. A visual progress bar shows how far through the period you are. Copy the result or bookmark the page for a persistent countdown.
The Day Counter is optimised for counting from today to a future date as a live countdown — it shows a real-time ticker and has quick-pick buttons for common events. The Date Difference Calculator is designed for calculating the exact difference between any two arbitrary dates with a full breakdown in years, months and days. Both tools complement each other.
The counter starts from today (or the start date you specify) and counts up to but not including the target date. So "3 days until Friday" means today is Tuesday and Friday is 3 days away — Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are counted. Toggle the "include today" option if your use case requires counting today as day 1.
Business days count Monday through Friday only, skipping Saturday and Sunday. The calculator automatically detects which days of the week fall within your date range and counts only the weekdays. Public holidays are not excluded by default since these vary by country — deduct them manually based on your jurisdiction.
Quick-pick presets include: New Year's Day (January 1), Christmas (December 25), Valentine's Day (February 14), Halloween (October 31), and generic intervals like 30 days from today, 90 days from today, and 180 days from today. Clicking a preset fills the target date instantly.
Yes — enter today as the start date and your expected delivery date as the end. Toggle business days if your shipper counts working days. The result tells you exactly how many days (or working days) you have left to wait. For calculating an arrival date by adding days, use our Hours Calculator or Date Difference Calculator.
Yes — enter the past date as the end date and today (or any date) as the start. The tool handles negative direction and correctly shows how many days have passed since a historical event, invoice date, subscription start or contract signing.
When counting from the current moment to a future date, the ticker updates every second to show days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining — similar to a countdown clock. It uses your device's local time, so results are accurate to your time zone without any configuration.
30 days from today is used for invoice payment terms, subscription trials and short-term deadlines. 60 days is common for contract notice periods and credit terms. 90 days is used for visa durations, warranty periods and quarterly reviews. The quick-pick buttons calculate all three instantly.
Yes — enter the upcoming occurrence of the event as the target date. If the date has already passed this year, enter next year's date. For birthdays and anniversaries, our Age Calculator includes a built-in next-birthday countdown that automatically rolls over year to year.
The calculator supports any date within JavaScript's Date range — effectively thousands of years into the future. For practical countdown purposes, there is no meaningful limit. Counting to a date 50 years away will give you the exact number of calendar days, weeks and months remaining.
