What Separates a Published Post from a Rejected One

We receive a lot of guest post pitches. Most are rejected because they offer nothing a reader could not find in a five-minute Google search. Here is what we actually look for.

Original Experience or Data

The best posts share something the writer has actually done — a tactic that worked, a test they ran, a strategy they implemented for a client. Recycled advice from other blogs will not be considered.

A Specific, Focused Topic

“Everything you need to know about link building” is not a pitch. “How I used broken link building to earn 14 links from DR 50+ sites in 30 days” is. The more specific the topic, the stronger the post.

Actionable from the First Paragraph

Readers should be able to take something away and apply it immediately. Posts that spend the first 400 words defining basic terms before getting to the point will not be accepted.

Written for an Informed Audience

Visiblytics readers already know what a meta description is. Write for someone who works in SEO or digital marketing — not for someone Googling “what is SEO” for the first time.

The Rules Before You Pitch

Word Count 1,000 – 2,500 words. Longer posts are accepted if the depth justifies the length.
Originality Must not be published or submitted anywhere else. We check.
External Links One do-follow link to your site. Additional external links to reputable sources are allowed if editorially relevant.
Author Bio Up to 50 words with one link to your website or LinkedIn profile.
Format Send as a Google Doc with commenting enabled. Include a suggested title and a one-paragraph summary of the post.
Images Screenshots, data visualisations, and original graphics are welcome. Stock images are not used.
Edits We reserve the right to edit for clarity, formatting, and SEO. Major changes will be discussed with the author before publication.
Response Time We respond to every pitch within 48 hours — accepted, rejected, or with feedback.

Your pitch should include three things: the specific topic you want to write about, a one-paragraph summary of what the post will cover, and a link to one or two pieces of writing that show your expertise. That is all we need to make a decision.

Please do not send a completed post without pitching first. Pitches that ignore these guidelines will not receive a response.

No. Posts must be written by the submitting author and reflect genuine expertise. AI-generated content that has not been substantially rewritten and verified by a human expert will be rejected.

Can I include links to my products or services?

You get one do-follow link to your site. That link can point to a product or service page if it is genuinely relevant to the post. Promotional content disguised as editorial will be rejected.

How long does the review process take?

We respond to every pitch within 48 hours. If accepted, a full review of the completed post is usually completed within 5 business days.

Can I republish the post on my own site after publication?

No. Posts published on Visiblytics are exclusive to this site. You are welcome to share a summary or excerpt on your own site with a link back to the original.

Do you pay guest contributors?
