Find out how far along you are in your pregnancy. Enter your LMP or due date to see your current gestational week and day, trimester, days remaining, and a week-by-week milestone timeline with baby size comparisons.
Enter the first day of your last menstrual period, or toggle to enter your known due date. The calculator works backwards from your due date or forwards from your LMP to determine exactly how far along you are today.
Your exact week and days are shown (e.g. "15 weeks 3 days"). Your trimester is displayed, along with a progress bar showing where you are in the 40-week journey. Days remaining until your estimated due date are shown.
A week-by-week milestone list shows key pregnancy events: heartbeat detected (week 6), end of embryonic period (week 10), NT scan (week 11–14), anatomy scan (week 18–20), viability milestone (week 24), third trimester (week 28), and full term (week 37+). Baby size comparisons are shown for each week.
Count from the first day of your last menstrual period to today. If your LMP was 10 weeks ago, you are 10 weeks pregnant. Pregnancy is measured in completed weeks — if you are in your 11th week (10 weeks and some days past LMP), you are described as "10 weeks pregnant." This tool automatically calculates your exact gestational age from today's date.
First trimester: week 1 through end of week 13 (weeks 1–13). Second trimester: week 14 through end of week 27 (weeks 14–27). Third trimester: week 28 through week 40+ (weeks 28–42). Some sources define the trimesters as 1–12, 13–26, 27–40 — there is minor variation. This calculator uses the 1–13, 14–27, 28–40 definition, which is most common in UK and international practice.
Week 6: Heartbeat first detectable by transvaginal ultrasound. Week 10: End of embryonic period; baby is now a fetus. Week 12: Risk of miscarriage drops significantly; nuchal translucency scan. Week 20: Anatomy (anomaly) scan; sex can usually be determined. Week 24: Viability milestone — survival outside the womb becomes possible with intensive care. Week 28: Third trimester begins; brain development accelerates. Week 37: Full term — no longer considered preterm.
The Nuchal Translucency (NT) scan is an ultrasound performed between weeks 11 and 14, ideally at 12 weeks. It measures the fluid-filled space at the back of the baby's neck (nuchal fold). Combined with blood tests (combined first trimester screening), it screens for chromosomal conditions including Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18), and Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13). It is a screening test, not a diagnostic test — abnormal results require follow-up with CVS or amniocentesis.
Common baby size comparisons: Week 6: lentil (3mm). Week 8: raspberry (1.6cm). Week 10: strawberry (3cm). Week 12: lime (5.4cm). Week 16: avocado (11.6cm). Week 20: banana (16.4cm). Week 24: ear of corn (30cm). Week 28: aubergine (37.6cm). Week 32: squash (42.4cm). Week 36: romaine lettuce (47.4cm). Week 40: watermelon (50.7cm). These are approximate crown-to-rump lengths in early pregnancy and crown-to-heel later.
They are complementary. The due date calculator starts from your LMP or conception date and works forward to give you the EDD. The pregnancy calculator can take either the LMP or the EDD as input and gives you your current gestational age, trimester, and milestone tracking. Use the due date calculator to find your EDD first, then use this pregnancy calculator to track your progress week by week throughout the pregnancy.
